Shocked surprise

Everyone was shocked..
Everyone exclaimed "huh, sermon ended? sure or not?"
Everyone scratched their heads and dropped their jaws..
Yes, the preacher ended the sermon within 15 mins..
Thoughts flashed across minds..
Haha but it was a shocked surprise!

Shocked: ended so early..
Surprise: never happened before..
Haha it is an experience but yet the service pastor did well to conclude it.

Just 4

Without gab..just 4 of us..
Made our way to vivo city but end up couldn't get into the packed car parks..
Swung our way to toa payoh..
Amazing right? you won't want to go there if it's not because of the kids..
I suddenly realise that after all the place doesn't matter anymore..It's the company!

To see the 2 younger angels imitating reub makes me laugh..
To see them literally copying his every action, his every word makes me smile..
We even made gaius tried out 2 "outrageous" shirts, where he is so unwilling to put them on as he also knows they look yucky..haha how fun can that be?
Then chloe kept pestering us to buy her kok kok shoes which must come with pearls..
These 2 really made our day!

Ended the day at kfc with a 2-piece meal..2 adults shared the chicken with them and the 2 kids took the whipped potatoes. Oh not forgetting we also tried our ever 1st time koi grass jelly drink..that is real cool stuff! Shall quote what macs said "i'm loving it!"

Thank God for a beautiful rainy saturday :D

TGIF

Another week passed by again..
Nothing particular happened this week..but somehow physically felt tired almost everyday. Went to bed at 11pm, which is not my usual timing of 12am. The moment the head rested on the pillow, i slept. That's why i knew how tired i was. But thank God for the rain in the night that made the sleep even shioker and better.

Today, i went to check up prices of 2 performance cameras that i intend to get at the end of the year. Haha stlll deciding which one to get, as both have their specialities and functions. Hopefully the price would also drop :D

TGIF and it's raining heavily again. I love it!!

Walk with me Lord

Time passes really like a rocket..
Oct is coming to an end and before we realise it, Christmas is round the corner. This is scary as you start to wonder what actually you have done for the whole year. As i was recollecting my thoughts, i thank God for a fruitful year. Not only because i have gone for missions trips and ministered to various people, but also i am now clearer in what the Lord has appointed me to do in this season of my life.

I thank God for people, who willingly allow me to walk into their lives and minister to them in the grace of God..people who trust and share with me their hearts and thoughts..people who enrich my life in the mentoring and bible study experiences.
Even when Jesus was on earth, He spent the 33 years on PEOPLE.
Though time passes like a rocket, nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing lives changed and empowered. It makes my life more purposeful and meaningful.

"Lord, direct my steps ahead.
Man may plan, but you prosper so guide and walk with me as i commit my days to you."

Princess

How fast time passes. Now my princess goddaughter is already 5 years old, next year will be K2 and the following year Pri 1. She is a very lovely and sweet girl. She warms my heart by her kisses, hugs and expressions of love. Without fail, she will whisper to my ears and say "Godma i love you!" That melts me tremendously.
I thank God for this beautiful gift and pray that she will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus soon.
"Lord, please watch over her and keep her strong. In her child-like faith, may you bring her to salvation and serve you faithfully all the days of her life."

Don't Take Things for Granted

A minor accident reminded us not to take things for granted..
Many times, the least that we expect, thinking we have certain level of confidence, can cause accidents, misunderstandings and assumptions..
Let us not take things and people around us for granted, because we might have to pay a big price for it..
Interestingly, God has to use such situations to teach us precious lessons. Maybe He has used smaller ways to alert us, but we brush it aside. May we be sensitive to His ways as He is a creative God using big and small ways to speak to His people.

Have a great week ahead :D

Made for a Mission

That is what i am going to share on this coming sunday service..
When God made Adam, He appointed him to tend the garden of Eden..
When God spoke to Abram, He asked him to bring the people to the promised land..
When God chose Moses, He tasked him to deliver the people out from Egypt..
When God used Esther, He gave her the mission to prevent the Jews from extermination..
When God selected Solomon, He used him to rebuild the temple of Jerusalem and bring worship back to the house.
When God called Jonah, He sent him to Nineveh to preach the gospel and got the whole city saved..
When God chose John the Baptist, He tasked him to prepare the way before the Son of God..
When God used Peter (though he denied Him 3x), He gave him the responsibility to reach out to the Jews..
When God chose Paul (though he persecuted the church badly), He used him to reach out to the Gentiles..

Every one of us has a mission to complete..a specific mission to fulfill the general mission of the Great Commission. We are made for a mission!
Let us stop being self-centred!
Let us stop being inward-looking!
God is always people-oriented and global thinking.
We may be restricted in certain ways, but with God all things are possible. The good work that He begins in each of us, He will complete it till the day He returns. How honourable we are to be in this partnership relationship, to fulfill what God has appointed us to do in the specific mission to sychononise the advancement of the kingdom of God.

New Hairstyle

I have finally done something to my hair after procrastinating quite awhile.
It is simply too long and freezy that i cannot tahan the split ends as well as the loss of curlness. Regina and I therefore went over to JB, not only to collect the lenses but also to do something to our hair. I was rather impressed by the speed and efficiency of the hair stylists that we were done within 2 hours. So far, my longest record in the hair salon is 4 hours and i nearly died. Haha i know where to fix my hair now, since time is better managed and price is cheaper.

I have a good time with my mentee and i treasure the relationship with her. My prayer is to ask the Lord to use us for the advancement of His kingdom and the purpose of our calling.
Regina, thank you :D
Most of all, all thanks to Him :DDDD

Short and Sweet

I had a lovely time with them.
They brought me laughter, made me relaxed and warmed my heart by their hugs and kisses. Haha i can't wait to bring 4 out in time to come (:

Uploading

Never been uploading so many photos on Facebook..
Took 2000 plus pictures but of course i can't possibly upload all.
Finally it is finished.
Because of the albums, a few were fascinated that the sceneries are similar to those at NZ and they expressed the interest to explore Taiwan. Haha the power of pictures :D

Summary 2

In this trip, i think we made certain accomplishments:
  1. We covered almost the island of Taiwan. Starting point at Taipei, then to Tai Chung, Nantou, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Kenting, Hualien and back to Taipei. People commented "how did you all do that? Wow you 2 are brave." Cannot deny the public transport system is user friendly and clean, so made our exploration less hassle. Though we stayed 1-2 days at one destination, we covered the main tourist attractions. Haha but it is fulfilling and satisfying.

  2. We used all forms of transport i.e. trains, buses, bicycle, car, taxi, ferries and of course walking. The least i expected is cycling and we have to take the 2 seaters one, so i felt quite stressful to make sure the bicycle moved and our safety. Haha but at least i know unis needs to practise her cycling again :D

  3. We experienced from the very lovely rooms to super cmi room (cockroaches, broken stuff etc-the thought of it made my whole body shivered). Haha what an experience but at least we made it though it is memorable.

  4. We tried stream tracing at Hualien, which is something new and fresh for us. Quite fun and refreshing. I realised that i cannot do the leap jump into the water, but other than that, i was able to do what the instructors told us. Haha at least i know my limits but i truly enjoyed myself.
This is my 5th trip with unis and i am sure there are more ahead..
Anyone wanna joins us?

Summary 1

I guess i shall not blog my trip by days, but by the things and lessons that i had gained:

These 12 days have been a fruitful one, not only because of the beautiful sceneries that we had seen, but also the way how this whole trip had fallen into place.
  1. Thank God for the way He helped us to plan the whole trip. What we did before we went over was to book the first few days of accommodation, researched and gathered data online and word-of-mouth. I even went to the Taiwan Tourist Association to confirm certain information. Worst of all, typhoon hit Taiwan 2 weeks before we left so certain tourist attractions are closed to public. As such, we just had a rough itinerary and the first 3 days of hostel booking. God knows everything. When we reached Taipei, with the help of the hostel staff, we managed to postpone the Hualien booking backwards as Hualien was badly hit and a few attractions were closed. We decided to stay in Taipei for another day to visit 野柳, which we did not see in our last trip. Then one place after the other, God led us from one district to another smoothly. The best thing is the hostel accommodation, where we booked them 1-2 days before we went over. We had never done that before, though we knew that there are many choices of stay, yet we still believed in God's provision and leading to make the whole trip so pleasant and wonderful.

  2. Thank God for sending 2 angels to help us. The first incident happened when we were at Cing Jing farm, after locating our 民宿 and getting directions, we decided to walk uphill to the farm. Little did we realise that we have to climb many many many many flight of steps and i think by the time we reached up there, we would have no energy left to walk and explore. We detoured back to the main road to take the public bus. THEN THE ANGEL APPEARED!! A male driver stopped alongside and offered us a free ride. The interesting thing is he already drove past us and stopped to call us. It is indeed amazing to see how God works. By the time we completed the exploration of farm, we fully understood the blessings of walking downhill and the agony of climbing uphill.

  3. The second incident happened when we were at Kenting. We were told that the journey took around 2.5 hours, so both of us napped. Then don't know why i suddenly woke up and looked at the screen. As it appeared the road name after the other, i realised that we might have missed our stop. Quickly i went forward to ask the bus driver and true enough, we have surpassed the stop at least 15 mins ago. With no choice, we alighted having no idea where we were. Hoping to catch a cab or hitchhike, we were stranded in some quiet roads at around 10 plus THEN THE ANGEL APPEARED!! A male driver stopped and offered to take us to the hostel. Helplessly we have no choice but to take the risk in hitching the drive. The man is very kind, not only offering us the free ride, but also assisting us in locating the quite-hard-to-find hostel. We really thank God. Without this angel, we would be seriously stranded as there was hardly any cab in Kenting and mostly travel by private transport.
I will share more..
