The Company of 5

After so long..these are the latest pictures by the company of 5 :D

Orchard

Went down to the orchard lanes of shopping centres..now the orchard road is totally transformed & you somehow will sure enter into one of the SC.
I was with my goddaughter & she made this comment "godma, why so many people one? i tired oredi becos my eyes are tired." Stunning! She could feel tired by simply looking at the crowd..tons of people walking passby, in front of you & behind me. Turn north, south, east & west. You just see people. Even i felt the tiredness. But well, cannot deny that it is the best place to shop as most of the shops are there & you can hop from one to the other. Haha..the most dangerous thing probably is your pocket will burn one big hole if you stay there longer.

Then we passed by 313, followed by OC.
Wow, it is a total contrast. One filled with lots of people, while the other is much quieter.
However, the later SC has nice scenic view when you go all the way up to the rooftop garden.
Cool breeze, nice night scenic view, beautiful garden layout (must go up at night).

Haha..supposed to shop for clothes but end up didn't get any :P
Haha..but anyway i have fun.
& of course the company of a new friend.

Right Left

I INJURED MY RIGHT ARM!!
The muscles are so 酸 that i don't have strength to lift up stuff.
Must be due to excessive & overexert of the muscles while playing badminton.
Maybe didn't do enough stretching too :p
Hopefully it would get better by tomorrow :)

Erm i have this strange phenomenon of using my left & right hands opposite from others in doing certain things..mind you i am a right-hand person. For example:

• People usually use right to play five-stones, i am opposite.
• People usually use right to carry the bag, i am opposite.
• People usually use right to hold knife & left to hold fork, i am opposite.

Don't ask me why..haha i have no ans as i also felt weird. Maybe during the growing up years, things do get messy. It's only in recent years that i finally managed to differentiate the 左&右 :p

Dead Log

Can't believe it..
This morning, i literally jumped out from my bed, looked at the living room clock, blur blur saw the clock time as 530am, so took my usual morning shower. I was thinking "how come my handphone alarm never ring ah?" "how come the sky still so dark ah?"
Can't believe it..
I WOKE UP ONE HOUR EARLIER..530am * faint *
Haha..so there i was, sitting at the sofa trying to "recover" back my 1 hour sleep but obviously cannot liao lor as I HAVE JUST BATHED. Of cos, i would be wide awake & can't sleep anymore. Haiz..can't believe it..

In the office, i was like a dead log, simply no energy to do anything.
Then went to school, WORST!
The lecturer's monotonous tone + direct reading from her notes fully gave me the double dosage of being an even "deader log". By the time it ended at 5pm, my "spirit, soul & body" are gone. But thank God for the badminton that pushed my adrenaline level up & i was able to be alive for awhile. Haha..today is really a tiring day for me.

In all things give thanks :)
So well, thank God for being a dead log :)

Reading

Read & read..read & read!!
6 books to read so that i can start to write the paper.
Aiyo..super sian & i am seeing stars oredi.
Eat also read, watch tv program also read, go toilet also read, then take bus also read. Haha the more i read, the more blur i am. Why can't these theologians use simpler english? Write until so chim that i have to read few times before i can grasp the meaning. Haha..but come to think of it, if don't write chim, how can be called theologians?

Haha..God grant me understanding..give me that brain!

Ok all ready to read that 6 GIANT books..* faint *

Today we have the shortest outing with the kids. Not even an outing..just mingled with them in the church office then to ntuc for walk walk. Haha..yet the kids have fun by touching the spiky fruits like pineapple & durian. So cute :D

The Mice

Ps Moses was sharing this "3 mice" story as an illustration at the TPM last night & I was the "interrupter".

Guess what? My mind just stuck with the english words of 老鼠药 & 老鼠夹.

Haha..thank God for my colleagues at the front row, who helped me along.

That is the challenge of interpretation.

Reaching for U

Still enjoyed the Hillsong's earlier albums like "For this cause" "Blessed" "For all you've done".
Tis morning, as i was worshipping & praying for the situation in Haiti, my tears kept flowing like the overrunning water tap. The anointed songs that God has empowered the songwriters to pen & the worship teams to lead are simply powerful.
God began to minister & encourage within my spirit that as i reach out for Him, each morning i will wake to find Him near. He will lift up my fears & set me on solid ground because all of my days belong to Him. What a comfort :)

My friends, our spiritual journey can be full of up-down, soaring-drying, happy-sad, faith-fears.
But won't you spare the time to worship God in the morning, so that you wake to find Him near?
Won't you want to be assured that His love has got a hold on you that He will lift up your fears and set you on solid ground?
You belong to Jesus, so reach out for Him :D

Amused

Teacher: "Gab, did you bring your bible today to class?"
Gab: "No."
Teacher: "Why Gab?"
Gab: "Because my daddy took my bible & he is now in bangkok coming back to9."

Haha..i just laughed. Really amused by him :)

小美女

While waiting for gab (art class), i have a great time with this beautiful god-daughter of mine, who is simply the promising potential of becoming the "future shopping queen" & "my shopping advisor". She would give comments in anything you look at, from the kok-kok shoes to clothes to food. Only 2 types of comments will come from her: "nice" & "not nice".

Recently, while shopping around then i saw this nice dress, so i asked her to try it. She would look at the mirror, turn a few rounds & then give her sign of approval -her broad smile- & one word comment "nice". Only then you could buy the piece for her :D

Haha..many times she helped to save money by saying "not nice".

Letting Go

Was watching this korean drama & came across the following quotations on love:

"Only someone that held on to the very end can say that they let someone go".
"I went as far as i could that i am able to let go".
"Making someone you love go away is not love".

It sets me thinking!
Letting go of someone can be painful, but holding on can be even more painful. 长痛不如短痛, so letting go can be a good thing after all :) Many times it is while you hold on to someone or something & when you realise you can't hold on anymore that you could let go without regrets else you let go with a 不甘愿spirit.

Anyway my thoughts are quite messy now, so whatever that is shared may not fit into the above quotations. Drop me something for your thoughts.

Heavy Heart

This morning, another bad news again.
Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake & 100,000 people feared dead.
The heart sank :(
The heart was heavy & i whispered a prayer for the nation.
Earthquake is one of the natural disasters that we never face here, but from media & reports, the scenes are scary.
Buildings collapsed..
Properties destroyed..
Lives buried..
God have mercy!

Let's pray for Haiti!

Panda Like A Bear

My eyes!!!
Oh no..like a panda bear with that outstanding black rings..oh my gosh!! Haha..like putting 2 onion rings round your eyes..so comical :D

Wonder why i am like that?
Haiz..just couldn't sleep the night before. Thoughts just kept flooding in..don't ask me why but i think sometimes such things do happen.
Haha..so today in office, everyone saw a living panda like a bear walking around the office. Only lack of the panda suit man :)

Final confirmation came when my godson gab saw me.
Then the cute little boy said "Godma, your makeup so black!"
You tell me lah..to laugh or to cry? Haha..i chose to laugh because i am really panda like a bear..

Water into Wine

Hoohoo..first class..set up the laptop then arranged the chairs..

Miracles of Jesus............power!

Almost 100 students in the class..

Haha..managing them is a challenging task but..

Thank God for my students, youngs & youngers who are quite cooperative though still some noise here & there but well..Haha..i must think of more creative teaching methods, so that cet can be a funnier, interactive & learning journey for many of them.

Turning water into wine is Jesus's first performed miracle..

He did it to meet the needs of others, not for his own pleasures..

He did it to display His creative power, not to show-off his supernaturalism..

Against the law of nature..

If you study the miracle carefully, Jesus met the need first.

All of us are in ministry in one way or the other, like Jesus, meet the need first.

Peaceful Airport

Was at the airport today..in the mid afternoon with 3 other human beings looming around our peaceful airport..
IT WAS REALLY QUIET!!
Weird feeling..to be there with countable people walking here & there..somehow i felt so at peace except the beautiful noises made by the kids. If you ever wonder where to go on sat afternoon, erm you may try our beautiful airport. Sometimes we need to be in that quiet spot, where everything around us seem to come to a stop. We need that breathing space. We need that quietness.
Can't wait for the viewing gallery to be done asap (under reno), then we can see the planes going up & down.

After the peaceful airport, we went to another contrasting place: Tampines.
Super crowded, super noisy with the voices of people & long queue of cars.
Haha..what a contrast! From a quiet airport to a packed tampines.
At the airport, we have so much space to walk & run.
At tampines, we have to squeeze & avoid the flow as-&-when.
The most jialat is the kids, kena pushed by people if you don't hold them.
No choice, we have to carry them or else you can imagine what would become of them.
Haha..thankfully we still got the happy mood regardless of where we are. Most impt is the companionship of one another :D

我上学了

开学咯，关我屁事咯！
Haha..i am back to school again..slogging under the power of systematic theology.
Haha..another round of "nightmare" again (i hope not!)
Actually come to think about it, i enjoy studying but then i sort of have no mood to do the courses. Probably the reason is the lack of personal touch compared to my former school environment. Now the school emphasises alot on academic achievements, that somehow the personal feel & ministry are lacking. I don't know if it's just me lah, but then 书还是要读的啦! Need to upgrade & push myself in increasing the biblical knowledge, or else quite stagnant lor.
Ok i shall press on. Jiayou :D

Small note:
Afterall the lecturer is not bad. At least notes are provided, if not have to struggle to come out own notes then lagi jialat. Haha then the best is yet to come. One of the big modules is taken out from this term, which means we have lesser to study. Yeah! What can i say right? Haha..not sure if the response is right but well..wait till you study ST, i think you would have responded the same way like i do.

Overwhelming

Today is an overwhelming day!
Overwhelmed by DUST & DUST & DUST.
Haha..because there is a major shift in our sitting arrangement, so my colleagues were busy packing, clearing & cleaning from their old place to their new cubicle.
My left neighbour is ps alan & right neighbour is ps aaron, so you can imagine how DUSTY the office is. But it is a good change because at least now the cubicle is bigger not only for our movement, but also more storage space. To me, it is also more private as i could talk to people condusively.

Another overwhelming thing is the pain that is caused by my stiff neck. Not sure if it is my sleeping position, but the pain has been there since sunday & it is killing me. Haha..turn left pain, turn right also pain..really cmi :( then today i need to shift some stuff, so you can imagine how conscious i was in minimising the neck pain while moving the stuff.

Just imagine: overwhelmed by dust + overwhelmed by pain..double dosage..
In all things give thanks..
So thank God for the dust & the pain. He will heal me!!

My Handsome Godson

How can Miss a Special Person's Birthday

Went out with the kids to celebrate auntie doris's birthday on the first day of 2010.
It is good to begin the year celebrating the big day for someone special. I am sure the kids would agree with me because she has been blessing & showering love to them (haha..of course including me too).

We had this chilli crab noodles at this restaurant. It is a worthwhile dinner set with one whole crab & then 50% off from the price. It was yummy. Haha..after that our hands were tired of cracking the crab.

Just a little thought to share with you: While we were in the car, don't know what we were talking, then i suddenly said the word "stupid". Haha..then gaius said "Godma, my mummy says cannot use the word 'stupid' because not good. My mummy says use 'O my goodness'". Haha..what a lesson from a little kid. Don't underestimate them. Next time in front of anyone esp a little kid, don't use that word.

2010

Hey hey..2010 finally is here!!
Before i move on, let me wish all of you HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

On this brand new day in the brand new year, i actually woke up then nua then slept then woke up then nua then slept again till 11 plus..baba black sheep any any wool..i am nuts already singing this song away on my cozy bed. Haha..nvm lah..finished the last project already so can really RELAX man.

Used to set resolutions but i have stopped doing that for the last 3 years. Erm..not because they didn't come to pass, but i guess it is better not to set any lah though i am consciously telling myself to aim for improvement progressively. People say resolutions are meant to be broken, but i think at least there is focus or goal in what you want to achieve within the year. Hmm..probably i have one new resolution this year: to pick up photography skill. Haha..but first i have to buy a new cam first.

Oh something to thank God!!
Thank God for the thanksgiving service. Haha..at least we didn't miss the countdown & the presentations were super well done. Two of the most enjoyable items were

1. The testimony shared by sis jing lin, where i was moved to tears by God's wonders in her life. WIth the 2 special kids, it is definitely torturing & fearful to pray against such gene possibility on the granddaughter. No one can understand the pain that our sis experienced except the caring God who heard her cries & prayers. He performed the wonder when she is certified as normal & not even a carrier at all. So God's hand is never too short to save & rescue his people.
2. The praise & worship done by first aug, where it was amazing to see them leading the congregation to worship God with the song "Through it all" & getting them to do the action song "This is how we overcome". Could really sense the uplifting atmosphere & the congregation actually participated in the song. So never let anyone look down on your youth.

I am expecting greater things to happen in 2010. Lord help me!
