29 June is an unusual Sunday.
Unusual because of
- seeing 2 wonderful colleagues & pastors of mine, after serving for more than 10 years leaving us within the same day. Both sang their "supposedly" & official last song items in the two services. As they sang, my tears started to roll down not only because of the songs they sang, but the hearts of appreciation & bonding ringing from their singing. I could sense the sincerety in singing every word, every stanza & every chorus. Lord, may you bless Ps Joyce and Ps Peter in their ministries. Bring them to higher heights as they serve you. Meet their every need as they call upon you. Grant them strength as they wait on you.
- speaking to my heart on "God has made everything beautiful for its time". How true it is that God keeps a calendar for everyone & makes sure that everything is beautiful for everyone in its own time. Once again, God reminded me "Elaine, do you live your life with eternity in your heart & mind?" He reassured me to look beyond & see God's destiny fulfilling in my life. "Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might for the grace, where you are going there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom" (Ecc 9:10). I thank God for this timely message as it pushes me to do my best for the extension of God's kingdom & give Him all the glory. Lord, help me to excel in my pastoral, mentoring, discipleship, teaching & interpreting roles.
- meeting long-time-no-see friends at a baby shower party like winnie...fletcher... feralyn + their son favyl. Catching up with same-church-but-at-times-hardly-talk friends like Jesslyn...Serene + Wilkie. Lord, tq for giving me friends who are friends forever if the Lord is Lord of them.
Finally, I just wanna say our God is an unusual God because He has made everything beautiful since EVERYTHING is planned by Him in its time. He never pang seh His people because we are God's royal priesthood, holy nation & a people belonging to Him. My friends, have hope & trust in God!
